POSITION DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

Responsible for operation of the Golf Course Maintenance department. The responsibilities include: turf grass/plant material maintenance programs, property/asset management, personnel management, budget/forecasting, financial management, Member relations, scheduling/maintenance or irrigation systems, pesticide applications, related recordings, and compliance of regulatory issues.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Provide agronomic direction for the healthy growth of the golf course grasses, trees, wetlands, and other plant materials.
  • Supervise the application and recording of chemical applications on the Club's grounds in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Supervise the safe use and maintenance of the golf course mechanical equipment. Plan and budget for additional or replacement capital equipment.
  • Supervise and control all expenses associated with Golf Course Operations.
  • Interact with the Golf Professional to maximize the number of rounds of golf played, and to schedule maintenance practices around Member play and outings to maximize efficiency.
  • Ensure that his staff is working within OSHA, club safety, state and federal guidelines for safe working conditions. Provide technical, operational and safety training for employees.
  • Maintain the golf course at the highest quality possible at all times.

WORK EXPERIENCE

3 - 5 years in Golf Course Maintenance

 

EDUCATION

Min 2-year College Agronomy Degree preferred

 

CERTIFICATION/LICENSE

Pesticide Applicators License
