Spray Technician

Position Summary: This is an entry level golf course management position which has historically proven to be an effective avenue to career advancement. The club’s most recent Spray Tech has recently been afforded the opportunity to advance to Assistant Superintendent at Austin Country Club.
 
Course Operation: Private Membership, serves as golf venue for UT golf teams, 18 holes, Par 71 – 7,412 course yardage, Tif-Eagle ultra-dwarf bermudagrass greens,
Tif-Sport bermudagrass tees, fairways, and rough. $1.3 M maintenance budget, automatic irrigation system.
 
Duties: Primary duties include post-emergent weed and pest control. Secondary duties include but are not limited to; golf course maintenance, fertilizer and pesticide applications, occasional irrigation maintenance and crew supervision.
 
Salary: $31,000 /year
 
Benefits: Paid health insurance, 401K, paid vacation, GCSAA, CTGCSA dues paid, expense involved in attending local education seminars and meetings, golfing privileges, uniforms, meal provided.
 
Requirements: Bachelor degree in turfgrass management or related field preferred.  Associate degree applicants considered with appropriate experience. Minimum one year golf course maintenance experience or equivalent internship experience. Must be proficient in the appropriate application of pesticides/fertilizers and calibration of application equipment. Must obtain Texas pesticide applicator’s license within three months of hire date. Spanish language skills a plus.
